FateMCP DayMaster
A simple HTTP service that gives you a Day Pillar reading — a detailed look at your core self, personality, career, love, wealth, and health — based on your birth date, in the tradition of Chinese Four Pillars (BaZi) astrology.
For AI agents: just send one HTTP request to the URL below. No install, no config, no restart.
What is it?
The Day Pillar is one of the four core pillars in Chinese BaZi astrology, marked by the Gan-Zhi (Heavenly Stem + Earthly Branch) of your exact birth day. In BaZi terminology, the Day Stem is also called your "Day Master" — the master element that governs your destiny chart — and the Day Pillar is widely considered the most important single pillar in your birth chart. It is made up of two parts:
- Day Stem — represents you, your core self, your public identity, and natural talents.
- Day Branch (the "Seated Branch") — represents your inner world, hidden habits, and relationship patterns.
You can think of it as a far more detailed version of your Sun sign + Moon sign combined: the Day Stem is your Sun sign (core identity), and the Seated Day Branch is your Moon sign (inner emotional world). Unlike simple 12-sign Western astrology, there are 60 total Day Pillar combinations — and the Day Pillar is the most important single pillar in the entire Chinese destiny system.
How does it work?
There are only 10 possible Day Masters (Heavenly Stems), corresponding to 5 elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) in both Yin and Yang forms. For example, Jia Wood is like a tall, upward-growing pine tree, while Yi Wood is like flexible, climbing vines. Each Day Master "sits on" one of 12 Earthly Branches — the branch below it is its "house" (the Seated Branch), which represents the inner world, hidden habits, and relationship patterns of that Day Master. This pairing produces 60 total Day Pillar combinations — the 10 stems and 12 branches cycle in lockstep, realigning only after 60 pairings — each with its own distinct character.
Example: Day Pillar Jia Wu — Jia Wood is kind, proactive, and social. It sits on Wu Fire, meaning this person's inner world is full of creative energy, expressive, and naturally talented in art and learning. But the Fire slowly drains the Wood's energy, so they may unconsciously take on too much and feel mentally tired. Change the seated branch — say to Jia Yin (sitting on Wood) — and the same outgoing Jia Wood personality takes on a very different, more rooted and determined inner life.

2. How to call it (for agents)
Send your birth date and get a full reading. That's it. The service accepts an MCP JSON-RPC request:
POST https://mcp.fatemcp.com/daymaster
Content-Type: application/json
{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call",
"params":{"name":"get_day_master_reading","arguments":{
"year":1990,"month":6,"day":15,"lang":"en"
}}}
Tool: get_day_master_reading
| Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
year | integer | yes | - | Birth year (Gregorian; the server converts to the Chinese calendar automatically) |
month | integer | yes | - | Birth month (1-12) |
day | integer | yes | - | Birth day (1-31) |
lang | string | no | en | Output language: en (English) or zh (Chinese) |
You only need the birth date. The service computes your Day Pillar automatically — no need to know your pillar name. Note: The server uses the standard convention for the daily pillar transition (births near 23:00–00:00 follow the conventional day boundary).
